Tales of the Macallan Laird of Easter Elchies is the first volume of a book collection that explains the story of the most relevant characters of The Macallan history, concretely Captain John Grant – Cofounder of the brand. The book is set in the Scottish Highlands of the early 18th Century.
The whisky bottle, which is the core product offered, is placed inside the book, meaning that the book is as well the packaging of the bottle.
For this project we have counted with Andrew Davidson illustrations, handmade bottle glasses supplied by LALIQUE Paris, the binding of the book made by Shepherd’s London and the original music produced by the visionary Nicola Benedetti. All these collaborations have made possible this incredible project that mixes history and modernity.

"You’d never get a project like this in a career, it’s so rare but so beautiful so wonderful that you’re getting all these amazing people together."
Andrew Davidson

With Andrew Davidson’s illustrations made in wood we have developed different window displays in Harrods, London and the Macallan distillery. We have also prepared an online/offline international campaign.

"Tales of The Macallan Volume I, Laird of Easter Elchies pays homage to one such pioneer in our history: Captain John Grant. In 1700 he realised the potential of Easter Elchies Estate and transformed the landscape, the land that has been home to The Macallan Distillery since 1824. This is his story."

"We've discussed between myself and The Macallan, it's what actually could we do together that non of us have done before."
Nicola Benedetti

We also created a 90 second animation movie with Andrew Davidson Illustrations. It helped us explaining the life of Captain John Grant in a single audiovisual piece.
